Washington University Men's and Women's Soccer Lands Five on 2008 Jewish Sports Review All-America Team St. Louis, Mo., January 15, 2009 — Washington University had three soccer student-athletes named to the 2008 Jewish Sports Review College All-America first team and two garnered honorable mention honors, as announced by the publication. Juniors Libby Held, Potomac, Md. (Winston Churchill), Becca Heymann, Winchester, Mass. (Buckingham Browne & Nichols) and Caryn Rosoff, Beverly Hills, Calif. (Harvard-Westlake) of the women's team earned spots on the first team, while freshman Lee Ann Felder, Tucson, Ariz. (Catalina Foothills) of the women's team and senior Cliff Goldkind, Potomac, Md. (Winston Churchill) of the men's squad received honorable mention accolades. Held, Heymann, and Rosoff were repeat awardees as they each earned the honor in 2007. Held, a first-team NSCAA All-America selection and all-University Athletic Association (UAA) honoree in 2008, started 20 games for the Bears in the center backfield. She was part of the Bears' defense that allowed just 19 goals all season, posting eight shutouts. Held also dished out three assists on the offensive end, giving her 13 for her career. Heymann, a member of the NSCAA All-Central Region second-team and the all-UAA first team, played in all 21 games for the Bears at midfield, starting all but one. Her seven assists led the team and combined with a pair of goals, gave her 11 points for the year. Rosoff, a first-team NSCAA All-Central Region selection, led the Bears with nine goals and 22 points. A first-team all-UAA honoree, she ranked third in the conference in goals and fifth in points. Through three seasons on the Danforth Campus, Rosoff ranks fifth in school history in goals (31) and points (77). Felder, an honorable-mention all-UAA honoree, was second on the team in goals scored (6), points (14) and game-winning goals (two). She scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Carnegie Mellon on Oct. 5, and then notched the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Brandeis University on Oct. 19. Goldkind, recipient of an all-UAA Honorable Mention accolade, played in 18 games for the Bears, starting all but two. His first career goal as a midfielder came when he netted the game-winner at then No. 10 Carnegie Mellon University on Oct. 5th. The women's team accumulated a 15-4-2 overall record, and won the UAA Championship for the third-consecutive season. The Bears also qualified for the NCAA tournament under first-year head coach Jim Conlon, and advanced to the NCAA sectional round. The men's team finished the season with a 12-5-1 overall record, their third-straight season with 12 or more victories.-
