St. Louis, Mo., September 2, 2008 – Junior forward Caryn Rosoff, Beverly Hills, Calif. (Harvard-Westlake) of the No. 9 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the league office. This marks the sixth time in Rosoff's career she has earned the honor.
Rosoff scored three goals and added an assist as the Bears began the season with two victories at the 2008 Washington University Classic on Friday-Sunday, Aug/ 29-30. She scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Bears posted a 3-2 comeback victory over #19 Calvin College on Friday. Rosoff followed that up with a goal in the Bears' 4-0 victory over Hope College on Saturday. She moved into fifth on the all-time Washington University list in goals (25) and seventh in points (62).
Washington University (2-0) begins a three-game road trip in California on Thursday, Sept. 4, against Chapman University. Game time is set for 5 p.m. (PT) in Orange, Calif.
